received his medical degree from Oxford University in England. He completed Surgery and Radiology Residencies in London, and is a Fellow of Royal College of Radiologists. He practiced surgery and radiology in England prior to becoming a Professor in both Surgery and Radiology, Chief of Orthopedic Radiology, and Chairman Dept. of Radiology at the University of Maryland - Baltimore. He was also Professor and Chairman of Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) - Charleston. Dr. Young has published numerous medical journal articles, medical texts, and scholarly addresses involving orthopedic radiology and MRI. Dr. Young is one of the leading specialists nationally in Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic MRI. He lectures nationally and internationally on topics of diagnostic MRI and clinical imaging. He is a staff radiologist for Advanced MRI.
founded Advanced MRI - a locally owned and operated facility, and is serving as the center Director and Managing Partner. A Billings native, he received his undergraduate degree from Rocky Mountain College, and a graduate degree in Biophysics and Computing / Medical Informatics from the University of Utah. He held a faculty appointment at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) managing a MRI research program involved in imaging and biochemical R&D. He founded Montana's first hospital independent outpatient MRI center in Billings and has continued to be involved in functional MRI R&D work. He is a member of the American College of Radiology as a medical / MRI physicist. He has several R&D grants for a biotechnology company utilizing computational chemistry to develop new medical imaging agents and pharmaceuticals. He is a faculty research scientist with the Center for Structural and Functional Neuroscience, a research center of excellence funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and affiliated with both Montana State University and the University of Montana. He has assembled a exceptionally well credentialed team of physicians and clinical staff to provide Billings with innovative high quality Open-MRI services that provide a needed and valuable community resource.
